Book review: "CANAL FISHING - A Practical Guide"
Published on 1st May 2014, this excellent jacketed hardback covers all aspects of UK canal fishing with separate sections for all the major species. It also provides descriptions of / useful information about most of the potential canal venues in the country, many of which are very under-fished these days. The book is packed with high-quality colour photographs, mostly taken during the author’s canal fishing odyssey around the country in the Spring of 2013.
The section covering gudgeon has a whole page devoted to GUGGS, particularly the afternoon which author Dom and sidekick Russ spent fishing the Aylesbury Arm with us in May 2013. Be warned - it includes several photos of members to commemorate the occasion! The publisher kindly offered us the special price as a ‘thank you’ for that afternoon and for our efforts to help promote the book.
